Fire crews tackle blaze at Dudley scrapyard
Fire crews have been tackling a large blaze at a scrapyard in the Black Country.
About 30 firefighters were called to the scene in Pedmore Road, Dudley, shortly before 02:00 BST on Friday.
West Midlands Fire Service said crews worked overnight to bring the blaze under control.
Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors and keep their windows and doors closed as smoke billowed from the site.
The fire involved a large quantity of scrap material, including metal and rubbish covering an area of approximately 30m x 20m.
A mechanical grabber had been used to break up and move burning material, it added.
Some engines had been used to relay water from a hydrant, some distance from the site with water also being pumped from a nearby canal.
